CharitiesText Box: Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and push for better cancer care. Cancer affects us all. We can all help.

With improvements in screening, diagnosis and treatment, more and more people are being diagnosed earlier and living with cancer for longer. They're often spending less time in hospital and more time at home. Cancer is becoming a part of more and more people's daily lives.

When you have cancer, it has an impact on every aspect of your life - from your emotions to your finances. And as you learn to cope with the shock and distress of diagnosis and the changes cancer can bring, you need a range of support - and so do their family and friends. That's where Macmillan comes in.

The concerns people have are not just medical, they're practical, emotional and financial. How will I get to my hospital appointment? Who will walk the dog? How will I pay the bills when I have to take time off work? Who will listen and understand? Who will help improve the situation - for me and others like me?
Text Box: Working for a world where there are fewer strokes and all those touched by stroke get the help they need

Each year over 130,000 people in England and Wales have a stroke. Of all people who suffer from a stroke, about a third are likely to die within the first 10 days, about a third are likely to make a recovery within one month and about a third are likely to be left disabled and needing rehabilitation. Stroke has a greater disability impact than any other medical condition. A quarter of a million people are living with long-term disability as a result of stroke in the UK.

The Stroke Association is the only national charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages. It funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through its Rehabilitation and Support Services. These include Communication Support, Family and Carer Support, information services and welfare grants. We also campaign, educate and inform to increase knowledge of stroke at all levels of society, and act as a voice for everyone affected by stroke.
Para-Investigations will be carrying out charity Ghost Watches soon, Contact Rob at info@para-investigations.co.uk for more details
Text Box: Cystic Fibrosis is a multi-system disease. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust recommends the best care for people with CF is at a specialist CF centre by the multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease. Cystic Fibrosis affects over 8,000 people in the UK.
Over two million people in the UK carry the faulty gene that causes Cystic Fibrosis - around 1 in 25 of the population.

If two carriers have a child, the baby has a one in four chance of having Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick sticky mucus. This makes it hard to breathe and digest food.
Each week, five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis.
Each week, three people lose their fight against Cystic Fibrosis.

Average life expectancy is around 31 years, although improvements in treatments mean a baby born today could expect to live for longer.
