Para-InvestigationsPara-Investigations Text Box: Brighton’s Sea Life Centre stands at the landward end of the Victorian built palace pier, occupying the site of Brighton’s original aquarium, opened in 1872.

The original aquarium attempted to capitalise on the popularity of Brighton as a seaside tourist resort. In the 1740’s Brighton was one of the earliest UK tourist attractions when it became the place to go to take the waters. Following patronage from King George IV, and the opening of a rail link from London in the 1840’s, Brighton cemented its reputation as one of the tourist hot spots of the age.

Despite its apparent prime location, Brighton aquarium initially struggled to pay its way. In the early 1900’s, the local town council took it over. To boost visitor numbers, the aquarium subsequently diversified to include such spectacles as a chimp’s tea party, and a dolphin aquarium. Changing visitor tastes meant that the money-spinner became the target of animal rights activists who considered the “attractions” barbaric and unnecessary.

A Known haunting figure has been spotted crouching in the corner of the auditorium by the tank at bottom of the smaller stair case, witnessed by a cleaner when the place was empty.
A figure like shadow was seen in a staff only exit of the underwater tunnel area. Rumours of haunting and strange occurrences have been known over the years and backed up by a plague in the main display area.

Interesting things have happened on a number of previous investigations including knocks and banging doors. A spirit child was also captured on a photo
